What’s your corporate mission?

Our corporate mission is to put a sauna in every home. This is not possible unless the saunas we sell are of the highest quality and sold at the lowest possible price.

Why is this your corporate mission?

Because of today’s toxic environment and the resultant increasing body burden in the average American, every home needs a sauna. We are here to produce and distribute high quality saunas to the USA at extremely low prices. These saunas are NOT inferior. Our margins are very very low. It is really that simple. By having our wholesale prices so low, our hope is that our distributors will be able sell these saunas at an affordable price and still make a profit themselves for all their hard work in getting these saunas in the hands of the people who urgently need them.

We are a team of medical and engineering specialists who have come together with the same vision, passion and goal: To put an affordable sauna in every home so that Americans have a way to reduce their body burden of toxicants.

Why is your sauna larger than the competition?

We listened to our customers and our customers come in all heights and widths. Although our competitors may call their sauna LARGE, without doubt our customers of all categories of weight, height and body structure prefer the PROFESSIONAL SIZE of Sterling Heat because their knees, shoulders and arms are not nudging up against sauna canopy. There is simply more room....more comfort. That is why Sterling Heat is 20% larger than the competition!

Wow, your wholesale prices are really low! How do you do it? How can you sell these saunas for so cheap? Are they inferior, irregulars, used, retro-fitted, refurbished seconds etc?

Very low margins. Low overhead. These saunas are 100% brand new and direct from our factory to you. No, they are NOT inferior, irregular, retro-fitted, refurbished or seconds saunas. Remember, our goal is put a sauna in every home and we can't reach that goal if the wholesale price to our distribution force is too high.

Yes, as a physician the topic of synthetic materials to make the sauna was an interesting paradigm shift for us to hurdle too. Here goes...

To reduce the cost and keep this sauna lightweight, portable and fire retardant, this sauna is made out of synthetic materials. If we used more natural materials, the sauna would not be fire retardant and we'd have to spray with toxic fire retardant chemicals anyway.

For years we have been recommending that our patients purchase glass/poplar saunas made without adhesives. To this day, these are the least outgassing saunas available. Still, to this day, if a patient is able to purchase one of these $3000 saunas, we encourage them to do so.

HOWEVER, the problem was that only a small fraction of our patient population that needed sauna therapy could afford a sauna and/or had the place to put one. As the many years past, we witnessed that those patients on sauna protocols did much better than patients who would purchase a sauna "someday" or those patients who did a few saunas at their local gym. Keep in mind a signficant number of sauna hours sweating is needed to achieve a significant reduction in body burden (as research at various instiutions). Even our most dedicated and motivate patients were not able to mantain their sauna program via the use of the gym's sauna. They wanted and needed something within their home so that it was fast, easy, they could control the temperature/comfort and they could watch their favorite TV show.

That's when our own paradigm shift occurred: Which was worse? A patient who is exposed to sauna made out of synthetic materials? Or a patient who fails to reduce their toxic burden via not doing proper sauna detoxification?

And it finally hit us...there are risks with everything. There are risks walking outside and breathing air on the highway. Yet we must get in our car and go on the highway because of all the value will get out of leaving our home.

In other words, the risk/benefit ratio was such that the patient would benefit more than they possibly risked.

What's important is that, in the end, our patient's body burden was going be less after doing a sauna (than if they didn't do one at all). Of course, if a patient has full blown multiple chemical sensitivity and is unable to live in a 'normal' environment, then they need to find a way to afford the $3000 glass/poplar saunas.

Now, because the sauna is made out of synthetic materials, we recommend that the sauna be “outgassed” via running through heating cycles in a non-living space before the first sauna experience. Many of our buyers put the sauna on their covered porch or in the garage for outgassing. Even with outgassing, a synthetic sauna may be inappropriate for those with severe allergies and/or multiple chemical sensitivities. If a person can walk into a department store without getting violently ill, they typically can handle the synthetic nature of STERLING HEAT very well. Purchasing Sterling Heat is very similiar to purchasing a new set of luggage---you leave it out in the garage for a bit and then you feel comfortable using it.

What type of return policy to these saunas have? What if the sauna is defective?

Due to sanitation concerns, once the safety seals on the sauna box is broken we are unable to accept return of the sauna. However, a distributor may develop his/her own return policy and have the sauna returned directly to him/her. Of course, if the sauna is defective upon arrival, we will replace the sauna once it has been inspected by our engineering staff. Defects upon arrival must be reported to us within 7 days of sauna arrival to the destination. All saunas are tested prior to shipment. Defective function upon arrival are very rare. The most common cause for a customer claiming that the sauna is defective is the customer's failure to read the user's manual and operate the sauna correct and/or the customer is using the sauna outside or in a cold room--STERLING HEAT was designed to used indoors and in a room a typical room temperature setting.
