Many physicians ask "what about the synthetic nature of the sauna" and "out gassing of the sauna"?
This was a MAJOR paradigm shift we had to make in our practice. Since 1995, well before the sauna fad, we'd been recommending
sauna therapy to our patients with fantastic results. The only issue:
only the truly motivated and wealthy patients could afford the
'non-toxic' poplar saunas starting at $3000 per unit. Over the next
ten years we noticed a significant difference in the health status of
our long-term patients who performed sauna therapy and those that did
not. In other words, it hit us how many chemicals (and
their metabolites) that have no detox path whatsoever. And ANY sauna
therapy is better than no sauna therapy. In other words, you sweat out
far more toxins than you breath in by having your head outside a sauna---after
all, our patients live in homes with synthetic luggage and purses and
furniture right? We put our theory to work: Any sauna is better than
no sauna. And the results spoke for themselves. In addition, we found
that compliance was far better when the patient had the sauna at home
so they could watch tv etc---more fun, easier, faster etc.
Let's be honest: Can you name one detox modality that will unload
chemicals and heavy metals for less than $300? Although we don't
recommend it, even if a patient used the sauna six days a week for six months and
then
threw the sauna away wouldn't their $300 investment be worth it? What other modality has been shown to drop TOTAL toxic burden (ie: not just heavy metals) by 65% within that period of time?
We know. Its a paradigm shift in thinking. But we made that paradigm
shift long ago and have never regretted it since---and our patient outcomes
speak for themselves. Do we still recommend the $3000 poplar saunas? Of course! We recommend them to the wealthy and those with severe MCS. After all, many of our patients are also saving up to have their mercury fillings taken out---and we all know we can NOT skimp on having our patient's fillings taken out incorrectly. But we can skimp on getting an effective sweating machine in their home!
Many physicians believe and ask "aren't all these saunas alike"? Buyer beware! Another one of the common questions we get from doctors is that all these saunas are the same...right? Wrong! We have several customers who own two portable saunas---ours and the one they 'tried first' but didn't meet their performance expectations---ie: comfort with hot heat fast!
While many of these saunas may look alike in pictures, they are NOT alike. Take it from us: we've purchased, tested and even spent hours taking saunas in competitive models over the years. And these saunas are NOT alike. Here are a few pointers to discuss with your patient so they understand that you've done your homework when serving their sauna needs.
24% Larger: Sterling Heat Sauna is 24% larger than the competition. This means much more comfortable sauna experience for all patients. Not to mention the obese and up to 6'4" are happier!
Canopy bar: Sterling Heat Sauna comes with a built-in canopy bar that keeps the sauna from collapsing in on you while you sweat. Who whats to have their sauna sticking to them while they sweat?
Turbo Ceramic Booster: This is probably the most important feature of Sterling Sauna because it impacts the sauna's performance so much. Any sauna this size is going to have trouble getting up to temp and maintaining temp with just infrared sauna panels. We don't care what competitor ads or distributors say---they just don't get up to temp fast enough. (Frankly, sometimes we wonder if they've ever even set foot in the saunas they promote given the things we've heard them say.). We've sat in their saunas and we've tested their saunas using sophisticated heating sensors. A sauna this 24% larger size is going to take a minimum of 20-30 minutes to get up to temp. And then after it is heated, you open the zipper, climb in and guess what? It takes another 10 minutes to get back up to temp again. No thank you! On top of that, we heard many complaints from our Northern USA and Canadian customers---the sauna sometimes never got up to temp when he sauna was in a cold winter room. The solution to all these issues? Our answer after a solid year of research with these saunas was the mandatory need for the
Turbo Ceramic Booster. With the booster, the sauna gets up to 150 degrees in 8-10 minutes. In fact, it gets hot so fast we tell our patients just turn it on and gets your water/electrolytes ready because by the time you are done doing that it is time to get in the sauna! Also, it gets so hot that most all patients can NOT handle the highest heat setting of '5'---they must turn down to 3. Now that is heating performance!
9 micron wavelength of the FIR: The sun has a purpose: Vitamin D. But more and more experts are thinking the sun provides us more than just Vitamin D. It supplies us with a dose of approximately 9 micron frequency energy. Sterling Heat has been designed so that the FIR panels put out the majority of their FIR output in the 8-10 micron wavelength range.
Metalized floor: Most saunas of this type come with a 'foam floor' which is basically 100% petro based and smells like it. We've found this floor to have the most outgassing issues---far more than the canopy! The canopy seems to outgas its odor very quickly. Not so for the foam floor that others use. Sterling Heat has a light, inert, odorless, heat resistant floor mat that is closer to alum foil than it is to a plastic foam pad. This means less odor and less outgassing!
One year factory replacement warranty: Need we say more about the importance of this?
There are several options you have to offer affordable saunas to your patientsHere's what most physicians do:
1. Keep a couple saunas in their office so that they are able to sell/hand to the patient as they are walking out the door.
2. If a picture says a thousand words, then a demo unit says a million words. At least this is what our most successful physician offices have found. Keep a demo unit open in your clinic lobby or a side room to show the patient. We've found these demos are frequently sold because patients ask "can I just buy the sauna that has been open for awhile?"
3. If you need to ship to your patient, let us do it for you. Why? Because you will be adding costly to the wholesale price if you re-ship to the patient. Also, if requested, we will make the return label on the shipment box indicate your name/address...thus ensuring that people return to you for future purchases. Shipping is $30-$35 anywhere in the continental USA.
4. You may sell the sauna at any price and any profit margin you choose. However, most physicians are marking up the sauna up between $50-$100 over their cost. A reasonable profit---especially when you finally realize how important it is to get a sauna in everyone of your patient's homes! Also, most will find price resistance to any product that starts going too far above $299 to $349. In our practice, our patients typically walk out the door with a sauna on their first or second appointment.
5. You may link to this website. You will notice our website has no phone/fax/email contact info so linking from your website to our website ensures the patient returns to you for future purchases.
6. In most cases the physician charges the patient for the sauna. If you don't want to do this, just inform us of the price you would like us to charge the patient and we'll send you a check for the difference between wholesale and the price you told us to charge the patient.
What are physician wholesale costs and how do I set up an account?
Once you set up an account with us via supplying us with your name, address, phone, credit card info (MC/Visa) as well as proof of physician status, you are ready and able to place orders directly with us.
